ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) - A quartet of Dallas Cowboys standouts partied with TOLOs on Saturday at 105.3 The Fan’s “Mud Bug Bash” and their recurring conversation theme kept coming back to the biggest NFL party of all.

“A championship,” veteran linebacker and team captain Sean Lee said. "If you look at the type of team we have, the character we have, the talent we have, what we did last year starting 3-5 and then turning it around ... Now we have to find a way to take the next step.''

Our hosts asked another vet and team leader, center Travis Frederick, about the Cowboys capabilities in the super Bowl contention department.

"I certainly think we have immense potential with this team,'' Frederick said. "These guys enjoy being together and want to be together, with the goal to win a championship.''

Lee made the Point that the Dallas defense it’s in his mind more capable than at any time during his 10-year tenure to carry its part of the load.

"At times last year, we were the defense we wanted to be,'' said Lee. "But now, when it gets to the playoffs, it's about making sure we're that dominant D every game.''

Linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is coming off his stellar rookie season and made it sound as if his start as a Cowboy is just one continuous storybook.

“I’ve enjoyed every single bit of it and I’m going to keep saying that because I truly mean that with all my heart,” Vander Esch said of mingling with Fan Fans at “Mud Bug Bash.” “I’m living the dream!”

Receiver Amari Cooper obviously felt the same way about the seventh-annual 105.3 The Fan party ... and seems to be looking forward to an even bigger bash in 2020.

“All these Cowboy fans who want to come to get autographs and see us, it’s a testament to how great the brand of the Cowboys is,” Cooper said. “We will get even more fans out here next year if we win the Super Bowl.”
