Stephen Jones: Cowboys "Not Afraid To Go Another Year" On Dak Prescott Contract

OXNARD (105.3 THE FAN) - When it comes to contracts, the Dallas Cowboys don't seem to be in any rush to get things done with some of their star players.

Appearing on The Fan's GBag Nation at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, team COO Stephen Jones says he definitely thinks the Cowboys could see no deals get done before they leave California.

One of the big three deals on the table is with QB Dak Prescott.

Dak is looking to get a big payout, coming off his rookie contract. But will it get done before the season begins?

"Do we want to make a deal with Dak, we certainly want to do that," said Jones, "But we're not afraid to go another year."

The remaining question is whether the third piece of the star trio will be around when the season starts. Prescott has always believed Elliott will be.

"Obviously we miss the player that he is," Prescott said. "But I know that he's getting better. I know that he's working on his game. He's in shape. He's going to make sure that he comes back and when he's back on this team he's a better player than before camp or before the spring."

Jones says the Cowboys will absolutely “go to the midnight hour” to try to get a deal done for all of them.
