OXNARD (105.3 THE FAN) - The Randy Ramp-Up is on.

Randy Gregory is no longer on the Dallas Cowboys NFI list as training camp in Oxnard continues, and expectations are that he’ll “contribute” on some level Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Gergory didn't appear at all limited as he worked out under the one-on-one supervision of strength-and-conditioning boss Mike Woicik. He'll continue to go through walkthrough periods before practicing.

That extra seven pounds (up to 242 pounds from his skinny drafted weight three years ago) makes him “look the part,” as one staffer put it to me. I’m told ownership has already all but decreed that Gregory is going to make the final 53. Meanwhile, coach Jason Garrett has already said he wants Gregory to play in some preseason games.

Those start just over a week from now. The third one is “almost real football,” a dress rehearsal for guys who are going to make the team and be in the rotation.

After two years of suspended waiting and work, Randy Gregory’s time is about to come.
