DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - There has been another setback for former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and his attempt to throw a fantasy football league party.

In a ruling out of the 5th Court of Appeals in Dallas, justices sided with the NFL, which said Tony Romo's Fan Expo, which was created to host the National Fantasy Football Convention in 2015, violated the league's gambling policy.

The reason, because players cannot he involved in gambling and the convention was to be held at the Venitian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Romo's attorney, Julie Pettit of Dallas, says the courts have been getting it wrong, that a ballroom at a casino is not the same thing as hosting in a casino.

An appeal to the Texas Supreme Court is a possibility.

The attorney for the NFL has not returned calls from 1080 KRLD for comment.

Romo has a second lawsuit charging the NFL with interfering with his 2016 convention that is still pending.
